@Bluegirl17, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I can help with that! Here are a few methods to reset your password on an HP PC:
Microsoft Account:
- If you're using a Microsoft account to sign in, go to account.live.com/password/reset on another device.
- Follow the instructions to reset your password using a secondary authentication method.
Local Account with Password Reset Disk:
- If you have a password reset disk, insert it when prompted on the login screen.
- Follow the steps in the Password Reset Wizard to create a new password.
Local Account without Password Reset Disk:
- If you have another account with administrative privileges, log in with that account.
- Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage another account and select the account you want to reset.
- Click Change the password and follow the instructions.
Safe Mode:
- Restart your computer and press F8 (or Shift + F8) during boot-up to enter Advanced Boot Options.
- Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
- In the Command Prompt, type: net user [username] [newpassword] (replace [username] with your account name and [newpassword] with your new password) and press Enter
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
