Pavilion 23
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For the past few months, my computer has been shutting down while in use. I can't find any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes it'll go hours or days without shutting down, sometimes it'll happen 10 minutes after it had just shut down.

It's extremely frustrating.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I would suggest please use HP Diagnostic tool available for your laptop and do battery health checkup, because it seems a power issue. Also, Try to use different charger or charging cable.

RTC coin cell bad is #1 top failure as is HDD. of dead PC or BIOS going nuts in cases of RTC.

top causes are

1: overheating (load hwinfo32.exe and see that?) free safe, run that. learn to look for overheating.  (even needs cleaning)

2: PSU overloaded

3: PSU bad.
