My Pavilion p6214y was updated successfully from Windows 7 to Windows 10, when Windows 10 was just launched.
Was running very well, but it crashed after a version update of Windows 10, if I don't mistake to version 1709. It was not able to boot and cannot be repaired. Then, I created Windows 10 Media creator with another computer and use it to install Windows 10 version 1809 four times but failed 4 times too. The message was "Your PC ran into a problem and we will restart it for you" (During this stage, 4 Windows-Old were created on the C: drive)
Now ,I did try to reinstall the original Windows 7 that was created after I purchased the p6214y from Best Buy but failed. This Recovery-DVD I created when it was new, may have been created with errors.
Finally, I reinstall on it, "Windows 7 Professional 64 bit" from an original Windows 7 DVD that I got from a garage sale, but the key was not valid. But the installation were smooth and successfull. It is now working well on Windows 7 and is running perfectly (without being activated because the key was invalid), but cannot upgrade it to Windows 10 because this Windows 7 Professional is not activated with a valid key. My questions are:
aa), Is the p6214y compatible with Windows 10 version 1809?
bb). If yes, how should I proceed to get it updated to Windows 10 version 1809 without buying a Windows 10 DVD? (Note: the original HDD is still being used and from the 4 (four) "Windows Old" on it, Microsoft is able to know that it had run on Windows 7 Home Premium beforehand.
cc). Is there any possibility to get a Recovery-DVD for this HP Pavilion p6214y from HP, so that the original Windows 7 can be installed on it and from there to be upgraded to Windows 10 vs 1809?
Please help and thank you very much before hand.

Hi:
Here is a way to make your own W7 installation media that will work with the W7 Home product key on your PC's case...
Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.
Select the Windows COEM ISO file download for the version of W7 the product key is good for.
I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or burn it to a DVD.
Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.
If the Microsoft tool doesn't work to burn a DVD, use this free DVD burning software to burn the ISO file to a DVD.
Select the "Burn ISO file option." Burn the DVD at the slowest possible speed you can to get a strong burn.

Your PC is not supported by HP for any version of W10, since it was made prior to August of 2013.
As the new builds of W10 roll out, many older PC's that worked on previous builds of W10, no longer work on the newer releases.
Here is the link to HP's W10 support matrix for PC's...

HP no longer sells recovery media for your PC's model series.
If you want to buy W7 recovery media, you can still order it from this vendor at the link below.

From your explanation, Windows 10 was installed and working, so there is no need to reinstall Windows 7 again. You can clean install Windows 10 from the media created on that other PC. If Windows 1809 fails again either something has failed or that hardware cannot handle 1809. Look for an older Windows 10 to install and do not allow it to update.
I'm not an HP employee.
