Example: HP desktop windows 10

I received a critical alert from windows that my computer is blocked and I am to call a *bleep* phone number but I am reluctant to give them information. When I did call they wanted access to my computer so I said no and hung up. It also says that the windows firewall has block some features of this program. There is also a very loud alert alarm that is going off, do I turn off the computer?

hi

You are probably the victim of a ransomware virus

It is often very difficult to recover the computer, it all depends on the type of blockage
I advise you to turn off the computer
Then look for help on websites specializing in viruses.

A bios update, as well as various manipulations that can be proposed here, is not without risk!
Be aware that if you are offered to do so, it will be at your own risk, the computer may become unusable, think about it
