Greetings ElaineyRK,
Some USB ports are not working.
Are the keyboard and mouse working? Try the keyboard and mouse in all USB ports to verify you have some bad USB ports.
I would return the PC for a refund/exchange if it is brand new and you have some faulty USB ports.
You may have to contact HP Support for warranty service if the return period has expired.
Regards
