I have Power Supply on a HP Envy 700-056 that is producing a loud High pitch squeal every 1.5 hours for 1-2 seconds. It does this with the computer on or off. The only time it doesn't do this is if I unplug the power cord from the wall. I need to know what PSU I can replace it with. The supply I have now is ATX, a 300w and measures 5.9x5.5x3.4 inches. Any suggestions? I don't do any gaming on this computer.

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!
As per: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=H5Q15AA, your HP ENVY 700-056 Desktop PC (H5Q15AA) is fitted with a 300 watt power supply, with p/n: 667893-002 or 667893-003.
If you just want to purchase an identical 300-watt replacement power supply, you can get one via eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=hp+667893-002&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&LH_BIN=1&rt=nc&....
Hope this was helpful.

Thank you, for the information. I did some research on the power supply and came to the conclusion that the capacitor in the power supply is causing the chirp sound. It may be leaking or has a power input regulator not working properly. This may be causing the capacitor to receive too much power and the chirp is the capacitor releasing power to stabilize. I'm going to change the power supply and see if this fixes the problem. Thanks again.

Follow-up on my problem: I replaced the Power Supply Unit, and it did not correct the problem. I kept the new PSU in the computer. I had decided to wait until February and see if I could get use to the chirping noise. If not, time for a new computer. Three days later we experienced a "Power Outage" in our area (while my computer was still on) by PG&E, and I switched to my generator for power for three hours. PG&E came back online, and I went outside and switched from generator to line power, and when I came back into the house my wife said the computer had chirped 5 times in a row with about two seconds between chirps. It has now been two days and guess what? The chirp is now gone. Who knows why, I sure don't, but I'm glad it's gone. It may come back; I'll wait and see. Any ideas how it fixed got fixed? Let me know please. I don't have a clue. The computer works perfectly.
I know, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right. Just be happy.

Shhh: don't jinx it!
[Whispering] I don't have a clue either, other than that somehow an electric jolt was a positive (pun intended) for your PC. Count yourself lucky: usually electrical disturbances messes things up, not fix them...
