I have a long-loved Compaq Presario 5000 series. I believe the OS is Windows ME. The computer was purchased in January of 2000. The power button suddenly stopped responding. I am aware of tests to bypass the button, but the machine has rivets, so I can not get inside, as I would like to do.
I would like to retrieve the hard drive information and I would like to put some baby pictures from 3.5 disks onto a thumb drive. I also enjoyed several games that do not play on my newer computers.
I appreciate any guidance on this issue. Gratefully, RT
