I have set my pc update to not get the latest updates when they are available, so it doesn't download automatically. Every time it installed, I had to reset my pc to an earlier date. Today I had to go back 2 days, but I managed to turn off the button for getting the latest updates before it set up again. In Windows 7 and 8, we could hide updates. I tried to download the Windows Show and Hide tool, but the system blocks it.

You're very welcome.
Yes, if you turned off all updates in the Windows Update settings menu, the utility won't find any updates pending to install.
If you allow updates, the utility should find them and you can check the box to prevent that specific update from installing.

I didn't turn off all updates. I just turned off 'Get the latest updates as soon as possible' so it won't download and install after hours. But I turned it back on, so the preview went back into place and Hide and Show still won't recognize it. I tried several times over several days and it still comes up blank. it only seems to recognize the security updates .

Sorry that the utility didn't find the update.
When I run it, the utility finds security updates, cumulative updates, preview updates, driver updates, etc.
The only known issue that Microsoft lists in the release notes is a potential problem with USB Audio Class 1.0 devices with error Code 10 or no output.
October 28, 2026— KB5127936 (OS Builds 26300.9818 and 26200.9818) Preview | Microsoft Support
Since this is a preview update, most likely it will be included with a new update that Microsoft will release on the normal 'Patch Tuesday' this month, and maybe the new update will work fine for you.
All of my 7 different HP and Dell PCs and notebooks have had no issues with this update.
