Hi there @MIKEKONG, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

If your HP ENVY Photo 6220 is printing multiple copies when only one is requested, this issue is usually caused by a software setting or driver glitch. Let's walk through a few steps to resolve it:

Check Printer Settings in Windows

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY Photo 6220 and select Printing Preferences
  • Go to the Advanced or Layout tab (depending on driver version)
  • Ensure Number of Copies is set to 1
  • Click Apply and OK

Check Application Print Settings

  • When printing from apps like Word, Excel, or PDF viewers:
    • Go to File > Print
    • Make sure Copies is set to 1
    • Uncheck any “Collate” or “Multiple pages per sheet” options if not needed

Reset the Print Spooler

Sometimes the Windows print spooler can cause duplicate jobs:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
  • Find Print Spooler, right-click and choose Restart

Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause erratic behavior:

  • Go to the official HP driver page: Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers
  • After installation, restart your PC and try printing again

Perform a Printer Reset

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back
  • Wait 60 seconds
  • Plug it back in and turn it on

If the suggestions helped solve the problem, please let us know by clicking “Accepted Solution.” It really helps fellow users find quick answers.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!

Best regards,
