Good afternoon
I have a problem with a laptop. I bought it at Walmart about a year ago. It did not gave any problems at the beginning, however, in the last month it does not allow me to open Microsoft or games or applications. At the bottom of the screen says "Activate Windows, Go to PC settings to activate Windows" Going to the settigs tells me that it has no product key. What should I do? I never had that happen and the box does not have any documents from the computer.

Right now it has Windows 8.1 and it says that Windows was never activated

The laptop ID is 00267-1000-00000-AA483

Hi:

I have zipped up and attached a free utility that should find the product key in the BIOS if one exists.

If the utility does not report the presence of a W8.1 OEM product key, most likely HP installed the wrong motherboard in your notebook (one that comes without a product key in the BIOS, as it should have).

If your notebook has no product key, your only recourse would be to contact HP and request they issue you a valid W8.1 OEM product key you can use to activate windows.

IN the USA/Canada you can call HP at 1 800-474-6836
