It might be helpful to investigate what Windows 7 is installed.  If prior to SP1, download that directly.  Also the more convenience roll up might help

FUNNY I searched Microsoft and internet looking for upgrade questions. Next is my newer pc with windows 10. A new SSD install. Will I lose the OS replacing my HHD?

It is not clear what you mean by this " Will I lose the OS replacing my HHD?"  If that is part of this "Next is my newer pc with windows 10. A new SSD install. "  If Windows 10 is ecisting on the hard drive and you plan on then duing a SSD install, clone the hard drive to the SSD and all will be well.
