Prodesk 600 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Brand new HP Prodesk 600 G3. Swapped internal hard drive to SSD. Windows 10 install from HP OEM Recovery media. Downloaded network driver to USB stick on another PC, and transferred to new PC and try to install.

Installation takes a lot longer than usual, and eventually produces error 'No Intel adaptors found on this system'.

I've had this on multiple systems, including the 600 G2. What is strange is that it seems to work eventually- I installed the chipset driver and BIOs update on machine no.1 and after a restart, the network functioned.

On machine no.2, the above didn't cause it to start working.

I've reinstalled Windows on hundreds of computers and I've always just installed the network driver and then been on my merry way.

Never had issue on 600 G1, just the G2 and G3.

Does anyone have any suggestions- am I being silly?

Hi

Why if you did a "" Windows 10 install from HP OEM Recovery media "" didn't the drivers get installed correctly from the OEM kit?

Is it an Intel or RealTek driver you need?  Because if it is a Realtek, then "'No Intel adaptors found on this system'" is a reasonable message.

Hi, @RASB17

When I first read your post, the first thing that came to mind was the same thing that CF4 wrote...

Your PC may have a Realtek ethernet adapter, not an Intel one.   The 400 G3's come with the Realtek gigabit ethernet adapters, for example.

But the quickspecs for the 600 G3 indicate the PC's only come with the Intel® Ethernet Connection I219LM GbE LOM integrated network connection

Did you try the driver directly from Intel?

If not, you may want to give that a shot.   The 2nd file down on the left side of the page is the 64 bit driver.

Disc used was provided with a G2. In my experience, as long as the recovery media is made by manufacturer of PC and PC was sold with same version of Windows, it activates fine.

Even when using this disc on a G2, network drivers are still needed. Never had an issue before with this process.

Factory image of Windows on HDD has the Intel adaptor listed in device manager- so it's the correct driver.

It also always works "eventually". Currently it seems that updating Intel ME firmware first makes it work- but need to try again to confirm.

Just run the .exe file (the driver) in admin mode. Good luck.

This has of course been tried.

I seem to have found a solution.

after driver is 'installed', and error given.. If i go to device manager and uninstall the network adaptor (which shows as unknown) and then restart, the driver then applies successfully and works as expected. Strange one.

I think I've found the core problem - early build of Windows 10.

My HP OEM recovery disc with Windows 10 is the first release of Win10. It activates no issue, but I have the above issue.

However, if I still the latest version of Win10 Pro (1709 I believe) the drivers install without issue.

Hope this helps someone.
