Not sure if this applies but this user managed to get the laptop to install windows by first using a Linux  to build a bootable partition

Hi @Radman01

My pleasure.

Did you try the 8860 BIOS update?

I just had a weird problem with a Z390 Gigabyte MB. I could not get into the BIOS and was seeing a 2002 era Windows XP loader at system startup and restart. This happened before I got to the Windows sign in screen.

This freaked me out. So I updated the BIOS and all was well again.

What recovery USB drive are you having a problem with? A Windows recovery drive or a BIOS recovery drive.

You don't have to purchase Windows. You can try to create W10 installation media by downloading the W10 Media Creation Tool at this Site. Use the current SSD to see if you can do a clean W10 install using the USB installation media.

W10 will run in a limited mode forever if you don't purchase a product key. You lose customization features but will still get security updates.

Try the BIOS update and a clean W10 install on the current SSD, if needed, to see if you can get things under control.

Regards
