What is not clear in the instructions to download the cloud recovery tool, is it possible to download the recovery tool on another PC running windows 10 home edition, I tried on a HP Pavilion 570 with windows 10 home edition and the computer had a meltdown and seemed to have to recover after downloading the cloud recovery tool, it did save the file, but looking at the event viewer in windows it caused a lot of events which seemed to cause a system restore at re-start ?? is it only possible to make the recovery USB on a commercial model HP ???

Now I'm unsure how to proceed to make the recovery USB on another computer, the SP135957 folder is there on the C drive and the computer I'm trying to restore is a HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini 35W which did come with Windows 10 Pro-hard drive failed-can the expert reply to this ?

Thanks for the quick response Paul, I did try the windows tool first, this is what needs to be clarified in the linked instructions:

" The recovery software works for HP PCs with Windows 10 Professional
(64-bit) and Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)"

I did get it to run and make the recovery tool on the home version of windows 10, all the events caused by the program were windows authentication related which I assume would be normal

Hi:

You should be able to use the business class recovery tool on any PC running W7 64 bit or newer.

I have no idea why that file would have caused such havoc with your HP Pavilion 570.

What I suggest you do is to make a plain W10 USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
