My PC was running Windows 10 but I was locked out following an update. I could not get to the Login from the Screensaver picture. Keyboard and mouse would not work.
Backed up my system to DVDs and did a Factory Restore.
Computer is now running ok but on Windows 8.1!
How do I re-install the data from the Backup DVDs?
I cannot see how to get into the Recovery menu.

What software was used to backup the data? If it was Windows 10, then Windows 10 can be reinstalled using the Media Creation Tool. Scroll down to the "Using the tool to create installation media"

In the previous post I also said "What software was used to backup the data? " I do not see an answer for that question. Use whatever the software was to return the data by using the restore function of the software.

I wrote " My PC was running Windows 10" so the Backup was made from the Backup and Recovery version in Windows 10.
Now I have Windows 10 reinstalled, how do I get to the point where I can load the recovery from the discs?

HERE IS A GUIDE that describes the method using the Windows 10. It first shows how to do the backup and then how to recover the files.

Thank you for the help and the guide.
I will work through it to get my systems back up.
Fortunately all of my important stuff is on external hard drives so it is just things like Applications which were on the C Drive.
I can easily reinstall these.
In saying all that, there are 20 DVDs in the backup!!
Cheers.

Another way to avoid the big work around of what you had to do is to use "System Restore" which is part of Windows. HERE IS A GUIDE that shows how to use that.
BTW: I use a network drive to run my backups. It runs every night- saves all those DVD's to sort thru.
