Hi @sillyoyster,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pro 6300 desktop is not powering on properly and the rear fans are running fast and loud, there are several potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow.

  • Check Power Connection: Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the power outlet and the power supply unit on the desktop.
  • Power Supply Unit (PSU): Since you've already replaced the power supply, double-check that the new power supply is functioning properly. Ensure that the power supply is compatible with your HP Pro 6300 desktop and that all necessary power connectors are properly connected.
  • Motherboard Issues: The problem could be related to the motherboard. Check for any visible damage, loose connections, or burnt areas on the motherboard. Reseat the RAM modules and any expansion cards to ensure they are properly connected.
  • Processor (CPU): Make sure the CPU is seated correctly in its socket. If possible, try reseating the CPU and check for any bent pins on the CPU socket.
  • RAM Modules: Reseat or replace the RAM modules. Faulty RAM can cause a system to fail to boot.
  • Graphics Card (if applicable): If your system has a dedicated graphics card, make sure it is seated properly. If possible, try using onboard graphics (if available) or test with a different graphics card.
  • BIOS/UEFI Update: Check if there is a BIOS/UEFI update available for your motherboard. Updating the BIOS/UEFI might resolve compatibility issues and improve system stability.
  • Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings: Clear the CMOS settings by either using the motherboard jumper or removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes. This resets the BIOS/UEFI settings to default.
  • Diagnostic LEDs or Beep Codes: Some motherboards have diagnostic LEDs or beep codes that can provide information about the nature of the issue. Refer to your motherboard manual to interpret these codes.

Remember to disconnect the power cord and follow proper safety precautions when working inside your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
