Hi  @hunted7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern that you believe your HP All-in-One 24-df0137c may have been hacked. I understand how concerning and stressful it can be when you suspect unauthorized access to your computer, don’t worry let me check and help you with this.

To better understand the situation, could you kindly provide a few more details?

  • What makes you believe the computer was hacked?
  • Are you seeing any specific error messages, pop-ups, or suspicious activity?
  • Are you still able to sign in to Windows normally?
  • Have any of your passwords, files, or personal information been changed or accessed without your knowledge?
  • Did you recently download software, open email attachments, or click any unfamiliar links?
  • Is Windows Defender or any antivirus software reporting threats?

In the meantime, kindly try these basic steps and security steps:

  1. Disconnect the computer from the internet (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) to prevent any potential unauthorized access.
  2. Restart the PC and check if the suspicious behaviour continues.
  3. Run a full scan using Windows Security:
    • Open Settings -Privacy & Security -Windows Security
    • Select Virus & Threat Protection
    • Click Scan Options and run a Full Scan
  4. Check for any unfamiliar applications:
    • Open Settings -Apps -Installed Apps
    • Look for recently installed or unknown programs.
  5. Update Windows:
    • Go to Settings -Windows Update
    • Install all available updates and restart the computer.
  6. If you have access to your accounts, change passwords for important services such as email, banking, and Microsoft accounts using a different trusted device.

Once you share more details about the symptoms you're experiencing, I'll be happy to provide more specific steps.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
