As a fix for a past issue I had to replace the mother board. I'm assuming that's why my recover disks tell me when trying to use that they aren't for this computer. How do I get back my system?
Now what do I do?

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Did you replace the bad HP MB with a HP IPMMB-FM (Formosa) MB? The Formosa MB is an exact replacement part.
HP has to add code to the new motherboard's BIOS so the HP Win 8.1 Recovery media will work with the new motherboard.
You would have to contact HP Support (Link) to see if this is doable and what the cost would be to do this.
It may be cheaper to buy a new Windows product key.

Hi,
Don't know if you can get Windows 8.1 Home anymore. Maybe eBay?
I saw the 8.1 Pro version at Amazon.
Maybe Windows 10??
The problem here (Windows 10) is HP did not provide any Windows 10 driver support.
So it is a guessing game as to compatibility and continued new Windows 10 version support on this PC.
