I'm having trouble booting windows. It looks as if something is causing it to hang up during startup. Normal and safe mode (all safe mode options) are not working. It loads for aa while then reboots. When I try to enter the recovery Manager, I get the menus to pop up but all the options are grayed out except contact hp support, which ends the recovery Manager and reboots the machine. Has anyone seen this, and can you give me some help? Thank you!

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
Did you delete the recovery partition on your PC?

Thank you for the great reply.
Since I posted the original problem, I think I have narrowed it down to a hard drive failure. The weird thing is that it all started when my Avast anti virus renewed. Avast made some changes to the computer, and this issue started the next time I tried to boot up.
Now, it has gotten to the point where I can't even get into the bios. The hard drive makes a lot of weird noises. I made an Ubuntu boot CD and mounted the hard drive partitions, but when I try to go into them it locks everything up. I can't even seem to use the boot CD if the hard drive is plugged in (like it is robbing too much power or something).
My next step will be to try to use this hard drive in another computer to see if I can access it. Most likely scenario is that I'll need to replace the hard drive. How do I order a restore disk, and would that work on a new hard drive?
