I am trying to fix a friend's computer...have been doing this for several years but this has me stressed.  I saved her files on DVD using Recovery Manager, then reset the computer to factory conditon.  When I put the DVD in and use Recovery Manager I can reinstll the files to the System Recovery folder, and see many of them, but how do I get them back into the locations they came from?  Documents, etc.  Not any pictures or music, just nursing home care plans, etc.

Using IE 11, 1 TB hd.  I've been using Linux for several years but have done a lot of MS help (no charge).  Just a little confused on how to handle the files to "restore" them.

Unfortunately HP Recovery Manager is not the optimum solution for backup and is only a last resort to save files when a machine won't boot and has to be recovered. It only puts them in the folder and you have to move them to their location.

Cut and paste works.Or copy and paste. You should also be able to right click and choose Send to and select My Documents.

Thanks, I was afraid of that.  The files just don't look like what they should be...we'll see what happens.
