I need to know the availability of the HP recovery media for a Pavilion 6510F for a client whose hard drive got completely wiped, so no recovery partition. Attempting to contact HP directly about this told me the warranty was expired and directed me here (thanks, HP! >.<). Is there anyone here that would know how I can get a quote for the recovery media that came with this particular tower so I can pass the information along to the client and we can make a determination? I need to know if it is even worth the time and effort or whether we should just pursue purchasing a non-HP retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium through one of our vendors.

Hi:
From what I can tell, HP no longer sells recovery media for that model series.
Normally, they only sell it directly to the customer for around 3 years.
When HP decides to no longer carry recovery media, they sell off the remaining inventory to 3rd party vendors.
This non-HP vendor still has recovery disks for that model.
