HP Recommended

I turned it on and started to reset it to factory condition. Came back later and found that the PC actually reset to a clean Win10 not the win8.1 that is in the HP partition. I also found that there is no option to "go back to previous version of WIN". I tried to reset using the system image created in the  recovery partition but it does not show on the options.

When you power-on your HP computer, you should have an option to boot from that Recovery Partition, to reinstall Windows 8.

I think that you may have used one of the "reset my PC" options within Windows 10 to "refresh" your computer with a fresh installation of Windows 10.

However, if you do manage install Windows 8, and donate the computer to me, the first thing that I would do would be to apply the free upgrade to Windows 10.   I think that other recipients would do the same.

Windows 8 is only supported until 2023, while Windows 10 will be supported until Spring 2025.

If it were my computer, I would use that "reset my PC" function, to reload Windows 10, and then give it away.  I would choose the option to NOT keep any of my personal files while reloading Windows.
