Hi,
So my company has this all-in-one desktop PC which was assigned to me when I joined this company.
Every employee has the same computer with same specs. Only mine is way slower than normal.
And when I say slower, these are some of them: it takes about 1 minute for MS office to open, it takes like 20 seconds to just open a folder, a simple right click would take like 8 seconds for the option window to open.
I had an option to talk to HP Support through whatsapp (latin america) and every hour the person in charge changed and asked me the same thing, made me go through the same thing over and over again.
After tiresome four days of nothingness - since after all the things they told me to do, it didn't work - they finally gave me a service order and said they will be sending a recovery media usb.
To be honest, after four days of doing all the things they told me to do, I have no hope whatsoever and it worries me a lot.
Is there anyone who went through similar situation and got the recovery media usb from HP?
And does it actually work?
I'm not a computer savvy so I don't know how different it is from what I did at the office with my own USB.
And if nothing else works, what is the fix for a slow computer?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Ames_12,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Using the HP Recovery Media USB can be an effective solution for restoring your HP Pavilion All-In-One PC 27 to its factory settings, which may resolve the performance issues you're experiencing. The recovery media provided by HP is specifically designed for your computer model and will include the original operating system, drivers, and software that came with your PC.
Here are some key points to consider about using the HP Recovery Media:
How Recovery Media Works:
- Factory Reset: The recovery media will perform a factory reset, which reinstalls the operating system and all the original software and drivers. This can resolve software-related issues that might be causing your PC to run slowly.
- Removing Corrupt Files: If your current system has corrupt files or configurations causing the slowdown, the recovery media will replace these with the correct versions.
- Clean Installation: It ensures a clean installation, eliminating any third-party software or changes made after you initially received the PC.
Steps to Use Recovery Media:
- Backup Your Data: Before using the recovery media, back up all important data, as the process will erase everything on your hard drive.
- Follow Instructions: When you receive the USB drive, follow the instructions provided by HP carefully. Typically, you need to insert the USB drive, restart your PC, and boot from the USB to start the recovery process.
- Complete the Setup: After the recovery process is complete, you'll need to go through the initial setup steps, such as creating a user account and configuring settings.
Differences from Your Own USB:
- OEM Software and Drivers: The HP-provided recovery media includes all necessary drivers and software specific to your model, which might not be present on a generic USB you created yourself.
- Pre-configured Setup: It is pre-configured to work specifically with your computer model, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
If Recovery Media Doesn't Work:
- Check Hardware: If the performance issue persists after using the recovery media, the problem might be hardware-related. Components like the hard drive, RAM, or even the motherboard could be causing the slowdown.
- Run Diagnostics: Use HP’s built-in diagnostics tools to check for hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi,
I received the USB yesterday and finished working on the recovery and as I expected, the problem persists.
So now I'm guessing the problem is hardware and I'm running some components diganostics.
If the problem is from hardware, what goes next?
Should I contact HP support and send this computer so they can fix it?
