This computer is 3 years old and was my father's. He was so old that the system was really messed up. I figured it would be best to restore the computer before use. That failed. Error lead me to believe it was a failing hard disk. Now, I'm trying to order Recovery Media from HP. I get to the point that I've entered my credit card information, then I get redirected to the main HP Support page. Cloud recovery will not work for this machine as per the HP web page. where can I get the recovery media?

You do not need it, or to pay for it.
1) HP Recovery Manager is built-in. Give it a try. first. There are options to install as "new".
2) MS WIN 10 is free download, use the in-place repair. It that fails then:
3 ) download tool now and follow instructions for install to a different computer. It you believe the HD is failing, replace it with same size HD. and let WIN 10 find the drive. It will format it.
