Pavilion 500-070
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Good day,

Recently my Desktop PC Pavilion 500-070 was giving problems booting up it took almost an hour and at times would not boot. So i got a hard drive borrowed and installed windows 8.1 on the B/hard drive then took my HP drive and hooked it up as my slave to get off some of my data. To my surprise when i got off half of my data and connected the HP drive back to the system it booted up but continues to freeze up every time i start explorer anew. so i proceeded to uninstall the programs i installed with the intention to do a factory default system recovery. the only program i think i uninstall that came with HP was the Cyberlink media suite however when trying to do the data recovery the partition recovery drive is corrupted. so i decided to used the disks but the cd/dvd drive is not reading the burnt disks added to that the HP recovery manager is not opening.

The disks are reading on my laptop but not on the desktop which made them. Is there any other way ?

what do you mean exactly, is it a question of starting with cd / dvd, or readable or not under windows?
Either they are defective, or is it your reader who has a problem?
tried to start with a dvd created with this if it works:

Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)

what computer do you have this one

HP Pavilion 500-070 Desktop PC

this is not yet for all models unfortunately, so if not possible, and the DVDs do not work, there is only the microsoft option
you can, use a microsoft copy, create a dvd, and reinstall windows with
For windows 8 therefore:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

you can then download the drivers and some applications from the product page of your computer!
