Hello i have some problems with my pc. Lets say i want to reinstall windows through the usb. But where can i find my windows 10 key. It should be tied to the motherboard and im not replacing any comppnents in the pc. So will the windows reinstallation just work automatically without needing the key? And if not where can i get that key from?
Thanks in advance

Hi:

The product key is in the BIOS and you don't need it to install W10.

W10 will find the key in the BIOS, install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

If you want to see the product key, I have zipped up and attached a free utility below, that will provide that information.

You will need to be able to get into Windows to use the utility.

You're very welcome.

Only the product key is in the BIOS.

If you can't use the factory reset option (for example if you had to replace the hard drive), or if you just want to clean install W10 without any of the HP software, you would have to reinstall W10 via a USB flash drive or DVD.

Okay so tomorrow my friend will come and bring me that usb and then it should automatically activate itself, right?
