Replace HP 87C3 Moria3 - suggestions?

Hi,

I need to replace the motherboard of my OMEN 25L because the RAM slot isn't working properly anymore. I can't boot, repair or reinstall Windows. HP diagnostics led to a failing memory test (DIMM 1). I swapped and replaced the RAM bars and even tried to boot with only one bar. The error consists.

So I think I need to replace the mainboard. I'm a total noob choosing hardware. Any suggetions what board I can replace the Moria3 with?

Your OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-0xxx as fitted with the Moria3 motherboard (SSID: 86D3) with p/n: L96321-001 / L96321-601 / L93880-01.

What I would personally consider doing, is to replace this motherboard with an identical Moria3 motherboard, which you can purchase via eBay-Germany, such as this purchase example: L96321-001 New For HP OMEN GT1 AMD CHIPSET B450 SOCKET AM4 DESKTOP Motherboard | eBay.de.

I recommend you examine the memory socket with a magnifier and a good light.  Look for corrosion, debris, etc.

Use an air duster.  It could also be a bad capacitor or overheated discrete component.

There is an Intel and an AMD version of the Moria3 motherboard according to google.

Unless I am mistaken, the motherboard (and case) are MicroATX and a standard sized matx motherboard will fit.  The powersupply is also atx standard.

Out upgrade expert @NonSequitur777 might be able to help better than I.

The OP specified the Moria3 motherboard, and HP produces only a single version of its proprietary Moria3 motherboard, which is used in specific configurations of the HP Omen 30L and 25L series desktop PCs.

The Moria3 motherboard (SSID: 87C3) is a microATX board with the AMD AM4 socket and B450 chipset, designed specifically for use with certain AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors.

By replacing a defective motherboard with the same motherboard, the OP can conveniently transfer the processor.  Btw, if the replacement motherboard requires a new Windows license, I can advise the OP for the best possible Windows license purchase deal.

Outstanding -please return to provide feedback how the motherboard swap worked out.  For an inexpensive -though legit Windows 11 license, here is the site that I have used quite a bit: Buy Windows 11 Pro Retail Key- Cheapest Price - Electronic First -though you may need to use the German-specific site: Electronic First – Xbox, Playstation, Spiele, Softwareschlüssel.

Btw, I have to use my PayPal account (which is linked to either your credit card or bank account) to purchase a key, because using a regular credit card for whatever reason is not working so well.
