Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

House struck by lightning and computer will not connect though the network adapter.  It is connecting through the wireless adapter but not by wired(LAN) connection.

Hi:

 

The ethernet adapter is an integral part of the motherboard.

 

You can purchase an internal PCIe x1 gigabit ethernet adapter.

 

This model for example comes with the low profile mounting bracket for slimline PC's

The above adapter would plug in to an empty PCIe x1 slot on the PC's motherboard.

 

They are the 3 black slots shown in in the motherboard illustration at the link below...
