I bought this PC in 2017 and it's done great service, but is beginning to run slow, especially when starting up and opening apps (in comparison with a laptop I sometimes use). It's also getting noisier. Am wondering whether the hard drive is getting tired and needs upgrading or replacing.
The Office 2016 functions take an age to get going. Upgrading to Microsoft 365 might help but the 4GB memory on my PC would be only just adequate for this. I'm thinking of replacing the 4GB hard drive with an 8GB internal SSD. Is it possible to do so for this PC, please?
The easy but expensive solution might be to buy a new PC, but I'd prefer a greener, cheaper replacement solution if one's available.
I'd be grateful for suggestions or advice.
Best wishes
Andy

great, thank you @WAWood
This is why I indicated that if possible, and it seems the case if you read the manual, that it would be good to install an SSD in addition to the HDD, in this case we can a smaller SSD, the old hard drive, will serve as storage!
The price ratio, speed of execution is worth it ..
This is what I did on my pc, and the SSD allows a significant boost
After yes, adding more memory would be another plus

The product page does not indicate SSD configuration
But you could add, if there is an available slot, and available connectors (sata data and sata power supply), or replace the HDD with an SSD

[edit]check in the manual, I looked quickly there is mention of SSD disk, so it should be fine

BEFORE you attempt to replace anything, you need to get your specs straight.
You do not have a 4GB drive; instead, you probably have 4GB of system memory -- something entirely unrelated to the hard drive.
Your PC specs, as linked by @Prométhée show your model has at least 500GB hard drive and possibly up to a 2TB drive.
A 500GB SATA SSD can be had in various sites for around $50 or less these days, but the larger drives cost a LOT more. So, if you have one of the larger drives, keeping the same capacity is going to be very expensive.
