Hi @Tpatel0528,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I Understand that your concern, don’t worry I will help you with this .

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. When you turn on the HP computer, does it ask for a Windows login password (Microsoft account) or a local account password?
  2. Do you see your email address on the login screen?
  3. What version of Windows are you using (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
  4. Do you remember ever setting up security questions for your account?

These details will determine the best recovery method.

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. If your account is a Microsoft account (shows your email on the login screen):

You do not need a USB or reset disk ,you can reset it online.

  1. On another device, go to account.live.com/password/reset
  2. Choose “I forgot my password”
  3. Verify using your phone or email
  4. Reset the password
Then try logging in again on the HP computer with the new password.

2. If you are using a local Windows account (no email shown):

Try these options:

Use Security Questions (Windows 10/11):
If you previously set these up:

  1. Enter the wrong password a few times
  2. You should see “Reset password”
  3. Answer your security questions → create a new password

3. Use Safe Mode to enable hidden Administrator account

This sometimes works depending on settings:

  1. On the login screen, click the Power icon
  2. Hold Shift → click Restart
  3. Go to: Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Restart
  4. Choose 4) Safe Mode
  5. See if “Administrator” shows as an account
If it does, log into it and change your password.

I hope this helps.
