I don't know security answers and can't reset my password and don't have a reset disk

If you've forgotten your Windows password and don't have your security answers or a reset disk, you can try the following options:

1. Use your Microsoft account (if applicable):
   If your sign-in is linked to a Microsoft account (for example, yourname**bleep**), you can reset your password online here: https://account.live.com/password/reset.

2. For a local account (not Microsoft):
   Unfortunately, HP cannot reset or bypass Windows passwords for security reasons. If you can't remember your local password or security answers, the only way to regain access is to perform a system reset that reinstalls Windows.

   • Choose Reset this PC > Remove everything if you no longer need the files.

3. If your files are important:
   You may remove the hard drive, connect it to another PC via USB (using a SATA-to-USB adapter), and if your files are not encrypted, back up your data before performing the reset.
