Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Envy Touch Smart #23sed494. Unable to reset to factory setting using the recovery option. Reads; insert Recovery media or windows installation. Flash drive with windows 10 does not work.

@Skip19 --  Flash drive with windows 10 does not work.

 
A few possibilities:
  1. the BIOS does not list the flash-drive as being one of your "bootable" devices
  2. when you start-up your computer, there might be an option to "choose boot device". Is the flash-drive listed?
  3. how was the flash-drive loaded?  You cannot copy an "ISO" file to the stick. If you have an ISO file on your computer, you need to run a program to read the ISO file, and to properly unpack that file, and write its contents to the flash-drive.
