I purchased a used HP all 8n one PC from a pawn shop, once home and started up, I see that its password protected, I tried to reset obut around 15 % into it, it says. " there was a problem resetting this device, no changes were made""

Hi:

 

You can clean install W10 as follows...

 

Make a bootable USB W10 installation flash drive using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool at the link below.

 

You want the 64 bit file.

 

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

 

When you get to the list of the various W10 versions to install, select W10 Home.

 

If the PC originally came with an older version of Windows (W7, W8), and you are asked to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key" option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.


After the installation has completed, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

 

Otherwise you may be able to order recovery media from HP for your specific model PC.
