HP Pavilion Desktop - 500-520qe
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I believe the original hard drive failed, so I created a restore disk (usb).  Original system was windows 10.  New hard drive installed and booted up with the usb stick and it installed windows 8.

My question is:  will the system eventually update to windows 10, or do I need to get the software from HP?

Thanks

Hi:

From the information I can find on that model, it originally came with W8.1 from HP.

To upgrade back to W10, click on the blue Update Now button at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
