I ran the posted fix for my computer but I received the following error:
Error 8193: Intel (R) ME Interface : Cannot locate ME device driver

If you have a wired/wireless router in your home (either yours or supplied by your ISP), and your computer(s) are connected to your router, then your router is protecting your computers from the vulnerability that tries to access your computer over the Internet. So, in that case, you don't need to update.
But, if you have a compromised computer "inside" your home network, then all the computers connected to your home network are vulnerable. Probably, any other virus on that compromised computer has already wreaked havoc on all your Windows-based computers.
