Hi there
As noted by intel (https://communities.intel.com/thread/110358) and others, the above driver is lost when re-installing windows. Which I have done, I now need to get a copy of the proper driver.
I have made several attempts to download from HP and Intel the supposedly correct driver and also using the various tools available from you and Intel that scan the PC and offer to download the correct file. to no avail...
A simple windows control panel > device manager > update driver> shows that windows cannot locate the driver and suggests I contact HP. There is no option to roll back to a previous driver. And an intel tool has no support for a HP motherboard.
The motherboard is HP model 1495 with integrated network, gfx and intel i5-2400 cpu@ 3.1ghz x64.
Please assist me to get this box up and running again, thank you.
cheers CD

Hi:
Try the smbus controlller driver directly from Intel.
Download, unzip and run the setup application...
If the auto install doesn't work, try manually installing the driver as follows...
Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the Intel chipset driver folder you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC.
I have two 8200 Elite CMT's and I have run every OS on them from XP to W10, and that is the driver you need for the smbus controller for this model.
