Several days ago hp replaced my faulty motherboard and network card. Everything was fine for 2 days. The last time I started the computer, I received the following message on a blue screen. Smart hard disk error
Imminent failure
Run hard disc test in system diagnostics
Hard disk 1 (301)
F2 - system diagnostics Enter- continue start- up
www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup
1720 - smart hard drive detects imminent failure
Failing drive SATAO
Failing attribute:# OA
I turned the computer off intending to resolve the issue today. When I turned it on today, I have only a black screen. The mouse and keyboard are wireless and unresponsive.
I don't know what to do now. Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Remz1

If the "warranty" for the computer is still valid, contact HP again.
They will replace the disk-drive, and they may include a USB memory-stick that contains the original Windows 7, so that you can reinstall the original Windows onto the new "empty" disk-drive.
If they don't supply it, did your computer come with a "System Recovery" set of DVD disks?
When you first got the computer, did you run the program to create a "System Recovery" set, either on one USB memory-stick, or burning onto a few DVD disks?
Or, from HP, you can purchase a USB memory-stick that contains that "System Recovery" set.

Yes, the warranty is still valid. I did create a system recovery on a USB stick when I purchased the unit. I was hoping this wasn't the case but I now know I will have to ship the unit back and be without my computer for another month. Thanks for your help.

Or, if "time is money", buy a new disk-drive today, and reinstall Windows today, and use your computer today.
You might leverage this problem as an opportunity to buy a new SSD, as an upgrade, rather than just buying another "spinning" disk-drive.
