Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

Back up data ASAP and replace the HDD.

 

Go with a SATA SSD if possible.

 

You are running Windows 10 (W10). HP Recovery options look for a specific minimum drive volume. This means you must buy a SSD equal to the current factory installed HDD.

 

But you can go with a smaller SSD if you install W10 using Microsoft installation media.

 

You can download current Microsoft installation media at this site (Link).

 

You can get previous versions of W10 at this site (Link) if your PC has a problem with W10 version 1809.
