AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.20 GHz
4.00 GB (3.43 GB usable)
Is my computer defected or does anyone have the following problems:
1. Computer is SUPER SLOW . While typing there is a delay between what I type and when it appears. When I launch Chrome it takes 15-30 seconds to launch. When I boot up it takes at least a minute before I can get to the main screen.
2. Sleep - once the computer falls asleep its pretty much dead! I have waited up to 15 minutes to get wake it up and get to the password screen. Now its just faster to manually shut down and restart the computer.
3. Multitasking - this computer can barely handle monotasking, forget multitasking. If I try to switch between 2 or 3 window tabs on Chrome its as though its processing quantum computing formulas, freezes and then does nothing.
I don't know about other HP models or other computers but for me HP stands for Horrible Performance.
Is this issue my computer or HP in general?
Should I just buy another desktop? (FYI I bought a cheap Chinese laptop called CHUWI and that runs circles around the HP)
I only installed Norton and Microsoft Office package.

It is an old machine, its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05146399
and also a low end machine with only single slot of RAM with 4GB. From its specs
(a) RAM: You can ONLY upgrade to 8GB
(b) Processor / CPU: The processor is not upgradeable.
Well, I would same more money and buy a different machine.
Regards.

It's just a slow machine with the factory installed hardware.
CPU is quad core 2.5GHz with no hyperthreading.
4GB shared ram is far from enough in 2021
1TB mechanical HDD is also a bottle neck.
If you don't want to spend any money on it, then download and make an installation USB for stock Windows 10.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10
Boot off the USB stick and wipe the HDD and install fresh, clean Win10. It will improve performance slightly.
Alternatively, if you are able to spend a couple hundred dollars, then I'd suggest upgrading the RAM to 8GB and install a 500GB+ SSD HDD.
I (personally) would still do the clean Win10 install even with the new hardware.
Make sure the BIOS is the latest, as well as the AMD graphics / chipset drivers. (AMD drivers can be obtained from www.amd.com, then go to support and download the auto detect stub installer.

Thank you for taking the time out to respond.
I will get a new machine (wish I had a time machine to go back and tell myself not to buy this)
Ironically, while trying to read your response and hit the Thumbs Up, HP got me good again.

Yes, sorry. Sometimes the sales people don't understand the customers needs properly, or the sales people don't understand the limitations of the hardware.
Hopefully you'll be able to sell it for a good price, or just do the OEM vanilla Windows and pass it onto an older family member or something.
Look for something with at least 4 cores and 8 threads (both intel and AMD Ryzen do this)
minimum 8GB RAM and SSD HDD.
