I do have a Windows XP backup computer, which is 32 bit.

Can I prepare the tool on 32-bit systems?

HP Recommended

You will need a PC running Windows 7 64 bit or newer to create the recovery media with.

Maybe a friend or relative can help?

HP Recommended

I currently use a Windows 11 USB Live system.

Do you know if it is doable in a Linux/Ubuntu environment?

Preparing the tool, that is.

HP Recommended

I don't believe that would be possible, but if you know of a way to run the Cloud recovery tool in Linux/Ubuntu, I suppose you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Now i'm in Windows 7 on a virtual machine with Zorin OS as the host system.

I will try my best to get it to work.

I have tried and tried, but it is not working.

But you Paul have showed me the path, and I am very grateful for that.

I will follow your advise when I have access to a WIndows 7 computer.

You're very welcome.

Please post back and let us know if you were successful in reinstalling W11.

I am baffled as to why neither of those drivers I gave you didn't work.

HP Recommended

I am, too.

The best luck I've had was with a Stornvme.inf from a W11 Live system, it showed as compatible but did not work.

Maybe should look into stornvme.inf some more. Just a thought.

HP Recommended

Yes, perhaps so.

You have a good amount of experience, so I know the problem isn't on your end.

I have given that driver to numerous forum members with PC's that have the Intel 11th > 13th gen core processors and it usually works for those I gave it to.

You and a couple of others have been the exceptions.

The good news is for some unknown reason, the cloud recovery tool media seems to do the trick.

I guess this hassle is one of the drawbacks with OEM-stuff.

But I decided to stick with a bought computer for my 40th birthday, and the PC do have neat specs.
