HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790-0030nt , Serial number: 8CG90946FK , Product number: 5XT83EA

Hi , I am planning to install a new SSD because the SSD in my desktop computer in the link below suddenly failed

My HP Desktop

My question is can I install an NVMe SSD in this computer?

And the reasons why I ask?

1. The SSD I removed is an Nvme SSD with M and B notches - Picture

2. I found the picture of my motherboard on google and it seens I have M2 SATA SSD slot ? - Picture

I'm confused, since when can an NVme SSD be installed and used in the M2 SATA SSD slot ?

If I buy a NVME SSD with single notch and M.2 2280 size, will it work?

For example : SAMSUNG 980 SSD 500GB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280 - Link

Thank you

Thank you for your quick response,
In this case, the "M2 SATA" label on the motherboard port is missing or incorrect.
"Nvme / M2 SATA" sounds more accurate
