HP EliteOne 800 G4 23.8-inch Touch All-in-One PC
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 a few days ago and now my system is telling me that my drive health is compromised saying "Warning: reliability is degraded. Back up your data in case of drive failure." My estimated remaining life says limited with the available spare at 100%. I'm wanting to know if I need to anticipate a total system crash of my computer and how I can prevent that. The additional information for the warning:

Reliability is degraded.

Reliability is degraded because of significant media-related errors or an internal error to the NVM subsystem.

Is the NVM subsystem something I can replace myself if I find the correct part online? Or will I need to take my desktop in to someone to have it fixed? I'm really trying to prevent my computer from completely shutting down because I need it for work. Any help or advice provided would be much appreciated!

hi @rando96

I would have no idea if the drive warning is coincidental or causality exists. The warning indicates the 256 GB Hynix NVME drive is failing (Nand problem or controller failure).

Downtime would depend on how quickly you can replace the Hynix drive and your backup procedure.

You should back up data ASAP to prevent data loss if you don't do routine data backups, or don't use drive imaging software, or don't deploy network backup and recovery options.

You may have to replace the Hynix drive. Restore a system image backup, use the Cloud Recovery Client available at this HP Site, or install Windows clean.

Regards
