Pavilion Convertible Laptop i5

My HP Pavilion 14"x360 Convertible Laptop - i5 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD - would not get past the HP logo screen so I did a quick systems test, which found nothing. I followed this up with an extensive systems test. The Hard Drive SSD/Optimized DST Check  has been running for almost 4 days now (699 iterations completed). The time does not move away from 3+ hours left and only 1-2% completed. I know the site says >2 hours, but 4 days and only going this far? Is it time to interrupt this, take it to a store, or allow this to continue? I don't know what to do...

@KAM81

Any time a disk test stops or hangs, that generally means a sector failure -- and that means the drive is failing -- and needs to be replaced.

It's still moving like it's doing something. It's at 709 completed iterations now...3%...??

There is something physically wrong with a drive that takes DAYS to run a disk test -- as each failed sector would take several minutes to scan, instead of several sectors per second.

Sigh...Okay, thank you. So frustrating as it's just over a year old and is primarily used for work! 13 days and still testing...Time to bring it in. Thank you for your guidance.
