Pavillion 590-P0025Z
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Hope this is the most appropriate Forum; if not please let me know.

Have a HP Desktop Pavillion; about 3 months old.  Model is: 590-P0025Z

Two questions, please:

a. Had it set up for sleep mode after 20 minutes. Same for Monitor.

Seemed to have worked fine.

Whenever in sleep mode, the front panel power light would alway blink on and off. Always.

After latest MS update, no more blinking of this front power light.

The Monitor definitely goes to sleep, but I am not sure re the pc. Maybe ?

Should this light be blinking ?

If not, why not  (sleep mode set up in W10 correctly, I believe) ?

b. I read that there is a Green small LED on the back that indicates health of power supply and other items.

I don't seem to have this LED.  Should I ?  Where ?

Much thanks for help; appreciate it,

Bob

Hello,

Thank you for reply.   (Have a W10 Pavillion Desktop; 6 months old)

I would really appreciate some more details on what is happening.

As I mentioned, the front power light always blinked when my pc was sleeping.

No more; it is always On now, since a recent MS update.

a.  I don't understand your reply re that it will "enhance my computer power management"

What do you mean by this, please ?

b. Is my pc sleeping when it should be per the times I have set up ?  The Monitor definitely goes to sleep.

**How can I verify that the pc is definitely "sleeping" ?  There seems to be no way to verify this.

c.  Why has it changed ?  Any way to get the blinking front panel light to absolutely

show that it is in sleep mode, as before (without messing anything else up) ?

If you, or someone, could really explain for me exactly what is happening, in some detail, I

would be most appreciative.  Would really like to understand.

Thank you,

R. Rose

Due to update, the sleep light setting is changed however, in a future update this will be fixed.
Microsoft is making changes to the way it will be rolling out feature updates for Windows 10.
