I have a customers Pavilion S5-1110 that the power supply failed in. - went ahead and purchased a new power supply for unit and all is well........ 2 weeks later customer states noise from computer - upon arrival hard drive is buzzing and clicking so it has crashed . Tech support is of no help. I can obtain a new hard drive for this unit however I need the OS which I am pretty certain was Windows 7 either Home or Pro. Anyone with a suggestion would be great. This is a 92 year old women in a nursing home on a limited income so a new computer is not in the making for her.
Thank you in advance.
Todd.

I recommend checking if there's a Windows COA (Certificate of Authenticity) sticker on the computer case, often located at the bottom or side. It should indicate the Windows version (e.g., Windows 7 Home or Pro) along with the product key. If not, you might try contacting HP support with the computer's serial number for assistance in determining the original OS.
