Hello, I have a problem after installing the latest driver 512.95 from NVIDIA. PC takes an awful long time to start up since then, the screen is only blue and after starting the whole computer is terribly slow and laggy/mouse sometimes freezes.
I tried to reinstall the previous driver, which worked properly, but after installing it it's still the same.
I found that the only one driver that doesn't do this is 472.12 from 2021.
But before all the new ones went smoothly until I installed 512.95. And I haven't had a problem with graphics drivers until now.
I don't know what happened, please advise me someone.
PC: i7 7700k, GTX 1080 8GB, 32 GB RAM.

Hi
It may not be better, but you say you have the latest drivers..
except I currently have the Nvidia drivers version 516.40 with a gtx 1070!

Hi Prométhée,
yes, I tried to install newest 516.40 driver but the result was the same.
The strange thing is that I had the 512.77 and older drivers installed before and everything went normally. But after I installed 512.95, the computer remained slow and laggy with all drivers except 457.30 and 472.12. Only these two work for me now. And I don't know why.

Have you tried the new install option?
As mentioned I have no problem since the last versions that have been installed..
Afterwards, the latest drivers do not necessarily bring much improvement for the old models..
You may have a problem also with your graphics card, and because of this, it does not work well with updates..

Yes, I have tried this option many times but without any success.
Right now I have the 472.12 driver installed and the computer is fast and working normally.
When I install the latest driver, the computer takes a long time to restart and then stays very slow, all windows open/close slowly and everything is delayed.
And I still don't know why.
Maybe it caused by Windows update?

You have tried both versions of Nvidia drivers (studio, game)
You did not understand at the beginning, for new installation, so you checked the box?
Curious indeed that only certain pilots are stable, I do not have this problem with a lower version of graphics card!
It can be a bit long, but sometimes it helps to read the release notes
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/166630/
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/190348/
Mention is made of the improvements of the various graphics cards, or not, and possible problems
But I can't know everything about your computer
Maybe you are using, or have done something on yours, which causes problems with some drivers
Since the beginning, I use each new Nvidia version, and even now with windows 11, I have no problems
