OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-0000i RCTO Base Models (LaprasI)

My computer has been notifying me for a while about a Smart event for my SSD, but it's been working just fine until today I turned on my computer for it to bring me to a black screen with "Secure Boot Violation: Invalid signature detected." then on the next screen it said "Boot device not found please install an operating system on your hark disk. Hard disk - (3F0). I ran a Hard drive/SSD test and the smart check failed. What do I do? My computer won't start up at all past these error messages? Get a new SSD?10img.png19img.png16img.png18img.pngIMG_0217.pngfile.png11.png

Greetings @laurenkthoman

Many folks are having a Secure Boot/system disk not found error due to a EFI Secure Boot database/Windows security certificate problem.

Change the following EFI settings:

- Secure Boot disabled

- Legacy support enabled.

Your PC would need a future HP BIOS update if all of the error messages you are seeing disappear after disabling Secure Boot. And this means your system disk should be okay.

But there is a Microsoft provided Secure Boot workaround you can try now.

The Secure Boot workaround solution is available at this HP Forum Link.

Note: the above (HP Forum Link) fix has helped many folks in the Forum. However, it is not 100% guaranteed to work in all cases.

For example:

1. The above workaround fixes the Secure Boot problem.

2. The workaround does not work.

3. The workaround produces an EFI Windows boot manager error.

The Windows boot manager error workaround is available Here.

Your PC would need a new SSD. And you would have to reinstall Windows. But only if you continue to see the 3F0 system disk failure message after successfully doing the Secure Boot workaround.

Regards
