HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p059
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p059 with a HP SK-2028 usb wired keyboard:

I was looking at my desktop information page on HP and over the list of software and driver updates that are available. How do I find out if these have been installed already?  I use the HP Support Assistant on a regular basis and downloaded all available updates through there. I am looking at the 'driver-chipset' and 'BIOS' updates?  Asking becasuse they may be irreversable once updated (BIOS latest update availabe is F25 rev A released Oct 9 2018).

The reason for this is I'm working through a keyboard not working as driver not starting and one of the possible solutions offered is to update BIOS. I'm working through the keyboard issue in another message thread and microsoft support.

Here is a list of the software and drivers available for my desktop https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-570-p000-desktop-pc-series/13823514/mod...

 Thanks, Richard.

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Thanks for the keyboard SKU. I checked this. It looks like a standard HP USB keyboard.

I did not see any specific keyboard software at HP's download site for your PC.

The keyboard requires a standard USB driver to work.

Do you have any errors in Device Manager? Right-click on the problem device. Select update drivers to see if this fixes a possible driver problem.

Have you upgraded to the latest version (1809) of Windows 10? This version has many issues. I would go back to version 1803 if you can rollback.

Maybe the keyboard is bad.

Try the keyboard in all available USB ports. Try a different keyboard in all ports. Try a different USB device (USB stick or mouse) in the USB port currently used by the unresponsive keyboard.

Regards
