Hi

I have just had to replace my desktop tower with a new one which is operating Windows 10,  but I still want to use my monitor which is an HP Pavilion f1703.

Unfortunately  I have lost the software driver CD for the f1703 Monitor. Can anybody give me some idea of how to get the software for the monitor.  I have tried the HP support site but they don't appear to be supporting the f1703 any longer.

Hi:

See if the XP monitor driver works by manually installing it.

I have zipped up and attached the XP driver folder for your monitor below.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Monitors device category.

Click on the Generic PnP Monitor.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver file you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and hopefully, the driver will install.

Then restart the PC.

Any "new" Operating System will have support for your "old" monitor.

So, there is no need for any "software".

From: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00037789#AbT0

Interface:  Input connector: 15-pin D-SUB (Analog)

Scanning frequency:  Horizontal 30-83 Hz / Vertical 56-76 Hz

Recommended/maximum resolution (H x V): 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz

That's a very "basic" configuration.  Connect it, and boot Windows, and give it a try!
