Example: Pavilion All-in-One 24

I set up a second user account on my desktop that has been working without issue for 6 months. When logging into the second account the start/windows menu wouldn’t open and Microsoft edge was not on the taskbar at the bottom. Logging back into my account, I can now not access the start menu and when I click the Microsoft edge shortcut, it opens and immediately closes itself. Please offer any solution you may have to this issue. Thank you!

@Lauramanx Welcome to HP Community!

Please follow the below steps and check if that helps:

  1. Open an Administrator CMD window. If you can’t find a way, use these steps:
    1. Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task Manager.
    2. Click File > Run New Task
    3. Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
    4. Type CMD
  2. Type the following commands at the CMD prompt:
        dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
        sfc /scannnow
